COVID 19

COVID 19

Due to recent public health concerns of COVID-19, our office has taken proactive measures to do our part to maintain the safety of our staff and CCW applicants. Our CCW unit will temporarily change how we process applications. We will continue to accept new and renewal CCW applications submitted online, along with maintaining the current approval process.

The following changes have been made to our CCW process and are in effect until further notice.
  • To maintain social distancing when you pick up a renewal permit, you will not have a new picture taken. We will use the picture taken from your previous permit.
  • We understand there is a limited number of course providers during this time. We will allow our CCW applicants to attend a course with any provider who follows Local, State, and Federal Guidelines.
  • It will be the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their provider of choice is following all safety precautions and complies with the COVID-19 orders.
  • It will also be the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the course attended meets the requirement of an 8 to 16-hour course for a new CCW permit and 4-hour course for a CCW renewal permit.

As our County navigates this unprecedented time of crisis, it is imperative that we continue to allow our citizens the ability to protect themselves.

We look forward to continuing our service to the community during this time. Please view our website www.scsdonline.com for any updates and the process to obtain a CCW permit. If you have any questions, you may contact our CCW unit 209-525-7135.
